NOISE VIBRATION & HARSHNESS

The key driving factor in the sales of passenger vehicles is the comfort which the inhabitants feel. Since tyre is the only component in contact with the road, at high speeds tyre is one of the major contributors of noise in the vehicle. It is, therefore, necessary to study the vibration and acoustical characteristics of tyre.

1. Simulation of tyre Noise. (Modal Analysis, Operational Modal Analysis, Transfer path Analysis, etc.)

2. Experimental Model Analysis. (Natural frequency and Mode shape extraction)

3. Human body Vibration. (Vibration levels felt by a passenger)

4. Vehicle interior noise. (Noise levels in the interior of vehicle cabin)

Following are the some of the Testing instruments used at this centre.

1. Head acoustics - HSU III

2. Microphones

3. Seat pad accelerometers

4. LMS Scadas Mobile

5. LMS test lab

6. Triaxial Accelerometers

7. Electrodynamic Shaker

8. Impact Hammer
