FACILITIES

1. Computational Facilities

            The centre is equipped with high end workstations and sophisticated facilities required for Finite Element Analysis and Dynamic Analysis of Multi-body systems. Following are some of the softwares available:

  • Finite Element Analysis

  • ABAQUS

  • MSC NASTRAN

  • LS DYNA

  • ADINA

2. Experimental Testing Facilities

This centre is equipped with state of art facilities required for testing in the areas of Vehicle dynamics, Model testing and NVH.

 

Facilities available for Testing

  • Vehicle Handling and Ride Comfort Testing

Quantifying the vehicle dynamic behavior using STEERING ROBOT (SR - 30) to study the vehicle handling and ride characteristics as per ISO standards (ISO 7401, ISO 13674 and ISO 4138)

The facilities for testing also includes following instruments

 1. Wheel Force Transducer

 2. Wheel Vector Sensor

 3. Slip Angle Sensor

 4. Height Sensor

 5. Pedal Force Sensor

 

  • NVH Testing

Evaluating the Driver and passenger comfort in a vehicle subjected to Noise and Vibration as per ISO standards (ISO 2631 and ISO 5128) using

1. Head acoustics - HSU III

2. Microphones

3. Seat pad accelerometers

4. LMS Scadas Mobile

5. LMS test lab

 

  • Modal Testing

 Study of dynamic characteristics of Tyre and other vehicle components is done as per SAE Standards using the following facilities.

1. LMS Scadas Mobile (Data Acquisition System )

2. Triaxial Accelerometers

3. Electro dynamic Shaker

4. Impact Hammer
